Page (Protector of the Small) by Tamora Pierce

This is the second book in the series and still there is nothing that stands out. Kel goes through her last three years as a page. In that time she becomes a young woman, realises feelings for her best friend who doesn't share them and overcomes her greatest fear. Her biggest enemy seems to be prejudice which she is slowly defeating.

Another simple storyline which seemed to fly through three years with nothing major occurring. Obviously the next two books are going to carry the bulk of it.

As already mentioned, nothing particularly stood out. It was an enjoyable read if you want something simple and quick. It is disappointing compared to the authors last books. However, the fact that it is meant to be a children's book should be taken into consideration.
